The castle of Roccavaldina is located in Sicily, near Messina, in the heart of the small town which bears it's name and was once the castle's feudal domain.

Geographical site: Roccavaldina is clustered around its castle on the side of one of the Peloritano hills. From the castle windows the visitor can see the Milazzo gulf closed eastword by the crescent shaped promontory "Capo Milazzo". Beyond the gulf, in open sea, you can count the Eolian islands, the vulcanic archipelago also known as the "Lipari Islands", an important archaeological site as one of the first human communities ever found.

The architecture of the castle belongs to two different periods. The first, and oldest portion, is Norman. It is therefore a tipical medieval strong hold with crenels, fortified by two cylindrical towers. The more recent, and larger portion, is a renaissance mansion with baroquee traces, dessigned by the florentine architect Camillo Camillani, who worked in Sicily under the Spanish dominion.

Today the castle belongs the barons Nastasi de Spucches. Free tours are available on request.
